Location: Chetwynd, BC
Turbine Type: Vestas V90
Number of Turbines: 48
MW: 3
MW Installed: 144
Phase 1 of the Dokie Wind Farm Project began in 2008 with the installation of 5 turbines and was completed in 2010 in Phase 2 following the installation of 43 turbines, totaling 48 Vestas V90 (3 MW) turbines erected.
This wind farm generates approximately 144 MW of power, which produces enough clean, renewable electricity to power approximately 40,000 typical Canadian homes.
Located on a mountain side, situated 45km northwest of Chetywnd BC, the remote location of the project was challenging. Steep grades, narrow roads and icy conditions allowed Eagle West to apply their superior safety practices & project management expertise to navigate their Liebherr LR 1400/2w narrow track crane onto the site. Despite the challenges, Eagle West was able to provide the required equipment, personnel and services to complete each phase of this project on time.
“Eagle West worked diligently and productively despite harsh weather and difficult terrain. They performed their work both safely and efficiently and always gave particular care to provide us with the highest quality of service.”
